Book Cover Redesign
Rupi Kaur Poetry Book Cover Redesign Series
This series showcases a redesign of three book covers. The series centers on Rupi Kaur’s Poetry books “Home Body”, “The Sun and Her Flowers”, and “Milk and Honey”
These books each have their own distict feelings and subjects within them so the task was to create a cover that would convey these messages.
Home Body
For this design of “Home Body” the focus is the topic of self love. The circles intertwined on the front and back cover represent the idea of mind & body and how they are connected. The quotes on the outside are pulled from the inside of the book which directly related to this theme. The color palette was inspired by the human body.
The Sun and Her Flowers
For this design of “The Sun and Her Flowers” the focus is the topic of growing. The design and the front and back cover are flowers intertwined and growing, showcasing the themes of the book. The color palette was inspired by nature.
Milk and Honey
For this design of “Milk and Honey” the focus is the topic of healing. The design on the front and back covers features a honey bee as this not only correlates to the title of the book but also to the meaning of healing. Honey is a remedy for wounds and bee’s produce this remedy. The color palette is inspired by honey with its shades of yellows.
